Prevents Damage to Suspension and Drivetrain Components

Limit straps are vital in custom suspension setups helping to prevent damage to suspension and drivetrain components. Without limit straps, the force of your vehicle’s unsprung weight can cause damage to shocks when jumping or at high speeds over rough sections.  Limit straps also prevent damage to your CV's by limiting the amount of maximum angle on your axles.

10,000lb Webbing and 15,000lb Chromoly Ends

Every Wide Open Design limit strap is sewn 4 layers thick with 10,000lb webbing with 4130 Chromoly tabs rated up to 15,000lbs. This ensures that even with heavier axles and force, these straps will remain intact and do their job. These are constructed for some heavy duty off road use.

Accurate Measurements

Wide Open Design Limit Strap lengths are measured from center of bolt hole to center of bolt hole. The bolt holes are made to work with 1/2" bolts. The strap's webbing material is rated between 14,000 to 15,000 pounds. The 4130 chromoly ends are rated to 15,000 pounds.

Note: The tab on the limiting strap and the tab that you weld to the chassis should always be lined up in the direction the limiting strap is going to pull.

How to get the Correct Length that you need

1. Add tabs that are in line with each other. When the strap is fully extended, should stay nice and straight.
2. Measure from the center of the hole of one tab to the center of the hole of the other tab
3. Do the simple math equation to get correct strap length needed
4. Install Limit Straps

In our example:
