Designed to eliminate the Kingpin Springs on the top of any Kingpin Dana 60 axle, the Crane Axle Dana 60 Kingpin Spring Eliminator Kit provides an immediate upgrade to any Dana 60 Kingpin Axle.

This Dana 60 Kingpin Spring Elimnator kit removes the kingpin spring entirely from the axle which creates a much tighter fitment.

Handle Bigger Tires and Wheel Weight

Delete the weak springs that were designed and used with OEM wheels and tire weights and replace them with heavy durometer bushings instead. These allow for heavier weight without crushing Kingpin components.

Increase Longevity of you Dana 60 Kingpin Components

Typically, when upgrading the wheels and tires on a Dana 60 Axle, the stock kingpin springs will compress too much causing damage to the existing bushings and other kingpin parts. This allows the avoidence of this problem. The solution is removing the springs and placing this kit there instead.

Reduce the Probability of “Death Wobble”

Replacing the springs with the heavy durometer bushings have been known to eliminate what is commonly known as Death Wobble (or Speed Wobble). Death wobble is typically caused by loose or damaged steering components. Bigger tires and heavier wheels can damage the Kingpin springs and other components, causing this issue. The Crane Axle Spring Eliminator Kit reduces the probability of damage.

Works with Any Dana 60 Kingpin Axle

This kit works in any Dana 60 Kingpin Axle. If you are currently running a Dana 60 setup with the spring, this kit is for you. You can use this kit with any Dana 60 Knuckle and High-steer Arm.

Includes

  • 2 - Heavy Durometer Bushings
  • 4 - Spacers

Premium Upgrade Option adds 2 white replacement bushings

Installation Instructions:

When installing the Crane Axle Dana 60 Kingpin Spring Eliminator Kit’s (SE60's), keep in mind to use all OEM procedures for disassembly/reassembly of the steering components.

  1. First, remove the 4 bolts/studs that secure the top cap or high steer arm and cap combo on the top of your kingpin Dana 60 Knuckle.
  2. Remove the spring and retainer.
  3. Inspect the white cone bushing; if worn or damaged, replace with new bushings (provided with the optional Premium Upgrade Kit).
  4. Grease the white bushing with high temp wheel-bearing grease.
  5. Install the SE60 bushing with the large dished end downward onto the top of the white cone.
  6. Reassemble to OEM specs.
  7. Test the preload of the knuckle. Using a “fish scale”, it should have 20-25 lbs. of turning resistance. In production testing, NO shims have been needed to attain correct turning resistance. Should you wish greater preload, disassemble top cap and add one of the provided shims below or above the SE60 bushing and retest. If you have too much resistance with no shims installed, please call our techs for assistance.
